Twitter-'lebrity' ...

I am having a heck of a time deciding if this 'Twitter' thing is for me. I must admit that I don't know much about Twittering, which I certain adds to my confusion. I'm not sure if I'd like to publish my whereabouts, thoughts, feelings, wants, needs , etc every minute of the day. Nor I am sure that anyone is really interested in that much information.
I stumbled {oh yes, that's another Twitter-like thing...I think. Later for stumbling} upon this video that kinda of sums if all up for me and this thing called Twittering.
But I'd really like to know what you guys think about it. Do you Twitter? Can you live without it? How do you get started? Is it really just a display of "bite-sized yippity yap"? Is really like hanging out with my BFFs all the time? If so, would we grow wary of each other's company? Or am I just being a 'bale whale'?
I looking for you for some answers...help me out...please.
