Theme Thursday....

... Game

Today's Thursday Theme is 'Game'.

Boy that really conjures up a lot of fun times.  Remember hide-and-seek, hopscotch, four corners, jump rope?  And those are just a few 'outside' games.  Do you remember those days when we were told, "go outside and play..."  Those words were magical.  You couldn't get out of the house fast enough..."don't let that screen door slam"!  In lightning speed you would round up your 'peeps' for a four hour game of stickball.

Stop for lunch?  Oh no! Stopping for lunch was unheard of.  Not in the middle of a kickball game!..."Mom! it's my turn to kick"!

...and those were only some of the games that we played outside....

Ha. I remember those days. Even remember the pattern to run Pac Man. Nice flashback.

Hey, love that image in your post! The PacMan rings ROCK!

I loved your imagery, the "go outside and play!" and the slamming screen door. Total kidhood memories.

Do kids get that anymore? So many parents don't let their kids run free like that anymore. Changing times I guess.

So true! We used to spend all day outside when it was good weather.

Inside was for card games, and Monopoly. And of course Barbie!

Nice Theme Thursday, happy memories.

Some of the most precious times of my life were those magical days in childhood playing games (inside and outside) with my friends. At this moment I wish I could return to those days. I'll just have to do it in memory.

Karen,

Luv Your Blog . Such a refreshing space to visit and stay awhile.

I'm a follower...from my other space in the blogosphere

Unfortunately kids don't get out to form the types of memories that we so fondly smile about. The neighborhoods are almost void of kid generated laughter....
....changing times...

Thanx for stopping through. See you soon

Everyday Goddess,

...and good weather, back then, was sun, rain and snow!

When it rained we played on the porch, while chanting, "rain, rain, go away. Come again another day!"...remember that?

And snow always made for great tracks and amazing snow angels...we never got cold!

Thanx for the blog luv aka 'the follow'.

I follow the Goddess at this and my other blog .

Tony,

Parents today don't say that enough...as a result, children today know nothing about playing outside...

memories lost....
