Travel Agent on the line

Myriel, one of my bloggyland 'luv-lies', took a trip with one of her 'real' world friends to the Netherlands back in November.  I fell in luv with this photo of this ultra retro bicycle...the fact that it is pink just makes it more refreshingly attractive.

And, although the one can spend all day oogling the architecturally-rich landscape, I've always been fascinated by the seemingly effortless un-chorographed movement of the countries 'bicycle' traffic and the mind-boogling organized{?} system of parking these little two-wheeled beauties. 

All of this bike riding has to have a calming effect...

I dream of the day that I can 'style & profile' in some hip, tricked-out sports car {ahhhhhh}.  But until then, my dream car is any one of the above groovy 'mobiles'.  Although they may not offer me the luxury of today's computer-driven, mileage challenged high-tech autos, they offer me something more comforting....

....memories of a time when life was waaaayyyy waaaayyy simplier.

She's Gotta Have This!

I have {very, very soon} three {important} birthdays, fastly appoaching.  One of these special days belongs to my granddaughter- Beautiful, who will be three years old.  For the last three to four months, {yes, long before Christmas} I've been on the hunt for 'the perfect' birthday gift. 

Enter...this awesome vintage peddle car!  The result {successful, I will add} of my daily blog stroll.  This awesome find fits my self-imposed criteria for 'Grandchildren Gifts'.  Gifts must fit, at least one of the following criteria {there are many more but I don't want to bore you} :: something educational, requires no minimal 'game cartridge' purchases, must involve some gross motor movement involvement since physical education has been taken out of the public school curriculum, must be developmentally educational.   

The metal accountrements- how can you not love that hood ornament?- and the silver paint gives it the classic vintage car look, while the pretty pink colour understatedly says...I am girl!
