{Thursday} the Thirteenth

WEEK #7

I am really falling for some of these great memes out here in the blogosphere! My latest fascination...Thursday the Thirteenth. The task at hand... construct a list of thirteen items that fit one common theme and post them on Thursday. Now, the original owner of this introspective meme is stationed some place in England, so the posts on that site often posts a couple of hours before my Thursdays {I'm located in the U.S.}.

Part of the fun of it all is that the list possibilities are limitless, not to mention that they offer a small glimpse into one's inner self {...not trying to play pseudo-psychiatrist here, but, don't we all have some elements of a voyeur appetite?!}.

Well, here is my first post for Thursday the Thirteenth...munch on!

Does This Doorway Make My Butt Look Big?...

The six week fitness check is quickly approaching. Although these two hotties seem eager to welcome this activity with open arms, this picture is more of how I've been feeling this week. Perhaps a few more minutes on the elliptical, coupled with one or two extra Pilate sessions...maybe one additional spinning class... perhaps my personal training can squeeze in one more session....let me think...adding two thirty minute steam saunas should pull off some water weight...or may an extra three to four laps in the pool...or perhaps .... {sigh*}

Don't be afraid to pave over those pesky Resume' gaps: With the rate of unemployment rising with every bat of an eyelash, now is the time to start to think proactively. None of us want to be the one who has to deliver the Pink Slip news to family, friends & {soon-to-be} ex-coworkers. We all hope that we have done enough in our job areas to have positioned ourselves to be that one all important thing to our employers...indispensible. We live now, in economic times that have us questioning if nepotism or familial ties are enough to keep us in the coveted positions that have made it possible to live the life of comfort that we have grown accustomed.
Instead of waiting for the hammer to come {and secretly wishing and hoping that it won't swing in your direction}, here's a project that will help you pave over those pesky Resume' gaps. It's all in the wording ...

After sporting this cute little number for Women's Heart Day, this vintage hottie has decided to sport it just one more time...just in time for Valentine's Day. If that head piece that she is donning doesn't have 'attitude' written all over it, then perhaps that 'go-to-hell' grin says it much louder. Of course, you all know that I am {hearting} those sexy strappy numbers on her feet! ...We should all be so 'perky' or at least be blessed with a waist that looks that fan'tabulous' in a skirt!

Staying with the coffee theme, this is my submission to today's Shadow Shot Sunday. The shadow cast by the flash is great! The big splash promises to quench the thirst of any hardcore caffeine consumer. And the aftermath of the little droplets almost guarantee that this cup of java joe will be good 'til the last drop!

Having a bad day? Or just need to get your day started with a caffeine jolt? Looks like it may be time for a coffee 'BREAK'. Rather you like it black with no sugar or 'sugar'-ed with mega cream, use of the 'WTF' brand artificial sweetener is just the additive. Just as sweet as sugar,but with twice the attitude, this is sure to get you through anything that is 'BROKEN' or any type of 'BREAK'.

Don't be afraid to create opportunities for yourself! Be seen by the 'BIG PLAYERS' in your life, shamelessly. Don't just 'find' yourself in the company of the Power Hitters, create situations/scenerios that place you in their company--- example, you eyeball a Power Hitter walking in your direction, don't step aside while mumbling a bearly audible 'hello'. No, girlie! Accompany that High Roller ,{even if you weren't headed in that direction!} and engage them with a big, confidently spoken "Hello, how are you this morning/afternoon/evening." Then mimick the behavior {imitation is the...}, if they laugh, you laugh. If they stop, you stop...just like that!
Remember... the Zebra that hangs out with a race horse...thinks he's race horse!

Didn't we have a conversation with eyecatching beauty about weigh-in time, last week?!
...I thought that we did. What?! Do you think that that doe-in-the-headlight, 'are you talking to little ol' me?', I thought it was time--gaze would make it okay? Well, I'm glad that you heeded my advice re:gravitational pull, {luv} the 40's coif, that sandal is to-die-for and I really {heart} that flower...now that's sexy.

Harriet,over at 'Hey Harriet' started this great meme called Shadow Shot Sunday. Want in on the action? The rules are pretty simple. I've been putting off participating for the last couple of weeks because I am not much of a photographer {you have to take a picture}, but then I remembered that my 'virtual' friends in the blogosphere won't mind it so much if I showcase the great 'shadow' shots of really good photographers...with a sprinkling of my attempts.

Every Day in a Different Way:: I'll never look at my 'to-do' list the same again. I have found it to be, both, a friend + a foe. My 'list' frequently acts as my 'peripheral brain'--gently nudging me to complete those tasks whose doing I would otherwise forget. And I've noticed that over the years, 'to-do' lists have curved out a place of their own in the aisles + shelves of many stationery houses.
